It's a process . . .

It's a process . . .

There are a milion reasons.  "I don't go anywhere." "I don't work anymore." I am retired." "I don't have space."

In other words, "I am not worthy of feeling good."  Your feet know what your mind thinks. And if our minds tell us we are no one, going nowhere, then that's exactly what will happen.

To me, getting dressed is a manifestation.  A calling upon the universe to open its doors for me and show me a new world each day.

But that doesn't mean every day is sequins and high heels. Because getting dressed is not the outfit, but the message you want to send first to yourself, and then to others.

Each day I step into my closet, I ask myself, "who do I want to be today".  I think about how I want to feel in my clothes. I think about how my body feels today.  And quite often, I get dressed from the shoes up. I tend to choose a pair and work up from there.

If it's a boots kind of day, then I chose the bottoms with the appropriate hem.  A flare is nice for an ankle boot, or a pump, or a runner.  I am a big fan of flares. A skinny leg is perfect for high boot days.

Maybe it's a day of transition, when I need to go from work to an event; I dress for that, and choose something that can be dressed up, or dressed down depending on the event.

The next time you think "I don't . . .", instead imagine what you do, what you can do, what you would like to do, and dress for that.

Happy  dressing,

Lynn
