Before there was ZÖE, there was SKY. An independent magazine published by yours truly to tell the story of us - small businesses, predominantly owned by women in fashion.
From 2012 to 2016, SKY was dropped in the mailboxes of 128,000 homes in the Regina area, supported by my social media marketing campaign for each business on my pages. I was the walking billboard for my customers. And it worked.
In 2016 I reinvented the old brand “Zoe’s Boutique” which was pending closure. I felt the city of Regina would be less without this venerable beauty. And so I took on the responsibility of building a new vision, creating ZÖE, a lifestyle brand with a global presence.
Plus, it gave me an opportunity to build a brand with my daughter, a designer, and create a business that focused on supporting women owned independent brands, such as Nadya Toto, Sara Armstrong, Eye of Needle, Chie Mihara, Django and Juliette, Sarah Mulder, and Anita Sikma to name a few.
When we see someone doing something, we label them accordingly. You see me as a shop keeper. That’s been a part of my identity as you see me, but the truth is, I am bigger than a brand hanging in a window or business card.
Before SKY, there was Lynear Thinking, which I founded in 2011.
The essence of my purpose since becoming an entrepreneur in 2011 has been to tell our stories so that we are seen, and that we also feel seen.
My Mission (2011) guides each step.
Moving forward, we see that the traditional retail business model is from another time and place. It’s time to not just reinvent, but to begin anew
Be seen,
Lynn
